Prayer Bead Devotion: Pentecost

In celebration of Pentecost, this devotion focuses on the gifts of the Holy Spirit.  If, after praying this devotion, you want to continue to explore the role of the Holy Spirit, feel free to refer to our previous devotion on the Holy Spirit: http://abeadnaprayer.wordpress.com/2010/03/25/prayer-bead-devotion-god-the-holy-spirit/

Cross: In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.

Invitatory Bead: “All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit.’”  (Acts 2:4 NIV)

1st Cruciform Bead: Holy Spirit, you give us the power to testify to God’s mighty acts, to speak words of His saving grace that are not our own, but yours.

1st set of Week Beads: use each bead to pray to the Holy Spirit to give you the words to testify to God’s mighty acts, particularly when you are at a loss for words or feel you do not have the confidence to share God’s love.

2nd Cruciform Bead: Holy Spirit, you give us the power to see and hear God’s will for us through prophesies, dreams, visions, prayer, and other means.

2nd set of Week Beads: use each to pray to the Holy Spirit to give you the ability to listen for and recognize God’s will for you in prophesies, dreams, visions, prayer, and other ways that God may speak to you through the Holy Spirit.

3rd Cruciform Bead: Holy Spirit, it is by your power that we are able to call upon the name of the Lord to save us.

3rd set of Week Beads: use each bead to call upon the name of the Lord, and to lift up your joys and concerns to God by the power of the Holy Spirit.

4th Cruciform Bead: Holy Spirit, it is by you, and through you, and in you that we are connected to God and to each other.

4th set of Week Beads: use each bead to praise the Holy Spirit for connecting you with God, and to recognize the presence of the Holy Spirit in your relationships with others.
